Local young people showcase their artistic skills at Trafalgar Place

17 April 2014

The artistic abilities of Elephant & Castle’s schoolchildren are being showcased at our Trafalgar Place site, as their work has been unveiled on the construction hoardings along Victory Place.

The children of Victory Park school have completed the art project with local Southwark artist, Reuben Powell.

Focusing on construction site safety, Powell has worked with Years 5 and 6 to help them understand more about construction as well as the changes that are being made to Elephant & Castle as part of the ongoing transformation of the area.

The school children drew pictures of Lend Lease’s construction team carrying out their daily jobs, including a crane driver, a carpenter, an electrician and a traffic marshal.

The artwork initiative is just one of many community projects which Lend Lease and Southwark Council are delivering as part of the regeneration of Elephant & Castle.
